Frumoasa Monastery - Iasi - details and images

As it appears to us today, convent and other buildings of the complex beauty of this architecture are the result of work that began four centuries ago and suffered, in the next epoch, the radical transformations. All the Frumoasa monastery in the northern part of the church, is a magnificent white marble monument. The tomb of Prince Michael Sturza high "in remembrance preaslavitului Gregory Sturza chancellor and knight, born in 1758 and committed in 1833" The tomb is made from a biblical statuary group, dominated by an angel who helps a small obelist gracefully.

The restoration of 1739 were assigned to and completed by John Enache Kogalniceanu Mavrocordat who built a tower "very FRUMOSU from that part of Beauty pond under fortress" and "boots in the same hill."
In 1863 the church possessions are passed in the state patrimony and royal houses here are turned into barracks and later in a military hospital.

Church is a beautiful building that blends in favor of aesthetics, simplicity and sobriety classicism with local traditionalism, monuments, walls and wearing beautiful spots distant echo of some plausible stories that have persisted for four centuries.
