Museum of History and Archaeology Tulcea - details and images

Museum of History and Archaeology of Tulcea County was founded in 1975, the Independence Monument Park, in a complex environment archaeological and historic ruins of the old Aegyssus Altura (dava Getic, ancient Roman city and Romanian settlement) and the monument erected in 1899 by Tulcea residents to war heroes of Independence (1877-1878).

The museum is organized into two pavilions - the first store in the form of 1975, houses the remains of Romanian-Greek eras, the Roman-Byzantine, medieval and early Middle Ages developed, and second, radically reorganized in 1995, is reserved protohistory prehistory and North Dobrogea (ground ) and temporary exhibitions (first floor).

Museum offers visitors a successive image of the past history of the territory of the mouths of the Danube, from ancient times until the medium developed eviului period. The permanent exhibition in deposits is a rich archaeological heritage conservation - about 90,000 archaeological items, numismatic and epigraphic, resulting mainly from archaeological research in the second half of the twentieth century in North Dobrogea, some of the pieces are in museum collections European and even national importance.

Permanent exhibition:
