Small Town Square - náměstí Malostranské - details and images
Descending from the Hrad Nerudova Street, the street's most beautiful buildings in Prague, named after writer Jan Neruda, we reach Malostranské náměstí (Small Town Square) where you can visit chrám sv. Mikula (St. Nicholas). This monumental building was built by Kilian Ignác Dientznehofer Kryštof and in sec. 18, is one of the finest samples of baroque Prague.
Today the square is used for festivals such as Christmas Market as well as Spring Market and New Year celebrations. Often it also shows soccer (football) games on huge television screens. In between festivals it is a common attraction and the best place to catch a horse-drawn carriage.
