Banat, RomaniaThe statue, cast in bronze in 1847 by the masters Ramelmayer and Glantz from Vienna, depicts the god Hercules wearing on the left shoulder the skin of Leo the Nemea and a mace. The statue, mounted in place of the red marble fountain that was in the center of Băile Herculane resort, was donated by the archduke heiress Carol of Austria to officers and soldiers guarding the border of the Austroungar Empire.

Decebal Face

Banat, RomaniaDecebal's face represents the highest stone sculpture in Europe. It is located in the place where the river Mraconia flows into the Danube and was built between 1994 and 2004. The idea of building the sculpture belonged to the historian Joseph Constantin Drăgan and is, somewhat, a replica of the Roman memorial plaque "Tabula Traiana", located right in in front of the bas-relief of Decebal, on the Serbian bank.
