Addu Atoll, Maldives, Maldives
Addu Atoll, also known as Seenu Athena, is the southernmost atoll of the Maldives. Addu Atoll, along with Fuvahmulah, located 40 km north of the Addu Atoll, extend the Maldives into the southern hemisphere. Addu Atoll is located 540 km south of Malé, the
country's capital. Administratively, Addu Atoll is the location of Addu City, one of the two cities in Maldives.
On the beautiful beaches, the nets are tight to catch fish in the reef. Every evening, after dark, the city comes to life. The local restaurant is small but busy. The food is mainly fish and rice based on Indian and Sri Lankan influences. A wonderful mix
of spices and flavors blends with the warmth of the tropical evening. Meat and fruit are expensive because this small island has no farms or farms, but fish dishes are more than made up for. Frogs and crabs live in wet mangroves along the shore, as well as
a large variety of lizards. The sound of crickets becomes a constant background noise for most of the day. Large bats fly at dusk from the coconut and banana trees that are everywhere. The flowers are in all the gardens, but also on the roadside, bright colors
that are in contrast to the sandy streets.
