Hermagor is situated at 602 m above sea level in the province of Carinthia. The community has 7.232 inhabitants and covers an area of 204,84 km². Sights to see in the community of Hermagor-Pressegger See are the Möderndorf Castle, the Museum of Local History and the Biedermeier Lerchenhof Castle, which has been listed with the National Trust since 1939. In the past few years Hermagor has developed into a two-seasonal tourism destination.
