Rab Island is situated in Kvarner Bay between the island of Krk in the north-west and south-eastern island of Pag. On the island of Rab are a few small villages, located mostly in its southern part. This is because the island is the north winds drizzle, while the south faces is crossed by a more pleasant climate in this part extending perhaps the most beautiful of the Mediterranean oak forest.

Lopar is a Croatian municipality of Primorje county - Gorski Kotar. It gained the status of municipality in 2006, and its population is 1,263 inhabitants.
