Portorož, in translation "port of roses", is a coastal town in Slovenia and one of the largest tourist areas of the country. Portorož, Piran coastal city that belongs to the municipality is located in the south-western Gulf of Trieste (the northernmost point of the Adriatic Sea) borders between Italy and Croatia. What led to the development site as a tourist resort Portoroz were natural items like salt, salt water and mud. When the curative properties of these natural elements have been discovered in the early nineteenth century, they began construction in Portorož hotels and spa centers.

Bled

Bled, a town which until 1918 was called Veldes, is a famous mountain resort in Slovenia. The city is located in the Julian Alps, Lake Bled mountain (Blejsko Lake), within which there is a small island (Blejski Otok) occupied by a medieval monastery (St. Mary's church). Swiss naturopath Arnold Rikli (1823-1906) contributed significantly to the development of the resort's spa Bled in the second half of the nineteenth century. Due to its mild climate, Bled has been visited by aristocrats in the world. Today is an important tourist resort, offering a wide range of sports (golf, fishing, horseback riding) and is a starting point for hiking and mountain trails, especially near Triglav National Park.

The resort of Kranjska Gora, with its 1,403 residents, is located near the Triglav National Park, surrounded by mountains and glacial lakes. The alpine holiday resort in the Northwest of Slovenia is known as a relaxation and winter sports resort. Even though Slovenia is becoming more and more attractive to winter sports fans, the traditional charm of the country has not disappeared. This is in part due to the Nordic Centre Planica, where ski jumping and flying as well as cross-country training and competitions take place based on Slovenian tradition. Eight ski jumping hills can be found in the Nordic Centre Planica in Kranjska Gora. Cross-country fans will certainly get their money's worth in summer as much as in winter: in winter, the outdoor cross-country trails are utilised and in summer, the fun continues in the covered cross-country polygon. Those who are still active in the evening will find an illuminated night slalom obstacle course available to enjoy.
