General informationHart (550 m above sea level) belongs to the 'Fügen-Hochfügen-Zillertal' holiday region and lies at the entrance to the Zillertal valley, just 7 km away from the motorway. The Fügen-Hochfügen-Zillertal region is a huge skiing arena with a total of 480 km of prepared pistes. The whole skiing area reaches up to an altitude of 3286 m (on the Tuxer glacier). Cafés, restaurants, magical wooden cabins and inns invite you to linger here.


Fugen

Fugen

Fügen is the largest and most popular resort in the lower Zillertal and offers a long history and an impressive piece of culture. The well-known Christmas song "Silent Night, Holy Night" originates from here, and the historic chapels and churches, the local museum, the exhibition cheese dairy and many more facilities give the resort a multifaceted appearance. The narrow alleyways in the old town centre invite you to stroll and linger with all its beautiful shops, restaurants and bars. The free ski bus takes you comfortably to the valley station of the ski area Spieljoch and Hochfügen-Zillertal. Those who still have enough energy after a day of skiing, can enjoy themselves alongside the piste, in the valley stations or in the resort itself. Fügen has everything to offer, whether it be a romantic ski hut, funky umbrella bar or a cosy restaurant! Strass (522 m) is located at the entrance to the Zillertal. A free ski bus runs to the 8 km distant Spieljoch lift in Fügen and the 13 km distant Hochzillertal lift in Kaltenbach. The holiday resort Hippach is situated in the heart of the Zillertal mountains and is known for it's great hospitality. With the Horberg lift you have ideal access to the diverse ski area with it's wonderful panorama. Mayrhofen is only approx. 5 km away, which optimises the choice of entertainment activities. Besides fantastic fun on the pistes the region Hippach-Schwendau-Ramsau also offers e.g. 30 km of piste cross-country trails with access to the neighbouring resorts, winter hiking trails and horse-drawn sleigh rides through the snowy winter landscape. The lively resort Mayrhofen is located at the further end of the Zillertal and is one of the most popular winter sports resorts in Austria! It has an almost perfect offer of activities to present to its guests: for relaxation there is the activity pool area with sauna complex, and sports can be found on the ice rink, but curling, cross-country skiing, tennis and squash also belong to the sports offers. If you are looking for some adrenaline take a try on the toboggan run or on the huge water slides, visit the theatre, cinema or experience folklore. Besides many après ski opportunities on the mountain or in the valley, you can also turn into the famous "White Lounge" of the igloo hotel on the Ahorn mountain to chill-out music and some cool drinks. Finkenberg

The probably most attractive high Alpine valley in the Zillertal, the Tux valley, stretches from 630 to 3,250 m altitude and is therefore one of the most reliable regions for snow in Austria. The cosy resorts Finkenberg, Tux and Hintertux offer exactly what it takes to enjoy a perfect winter holiday - a beautiful winter landscape, wonderful pistes and a great leisure time programme. Finkenberg is best known for its celebrities - extreme mountaineer Prof. Peter Haberler, the "Zillertaler Schürzenjäger" band, and Olympic medal winner Leonhard Stock. The resort has something to offer for everyone: relaxation and tranquillity, but also action and adventure. 28 km of cross-country tracks are prepared on a daily basis and 68 km of winter hiking trails are maintained regularly. Numerous toboggan runs, a natural ice rink and a great offer of apres ski facilities round off the offer. Together with its famous neighbour Mayrhofen, Finkenberg offers a total of 196 km of piste, comprised in the "Ski- und Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000". And due to the close proximity to the Hintertux Glacier, the resort is the ideal place to be for a perfect winter holiday!


Kaltenbach Ziller Valley

Kaltenbach Ziller Valley

Kaltenbach, together with Ried and Stumm, is positioned in the heart of the valley, the so called "first holiday region in the Zillertal". Kaltenbach is the largest and best known among these three resorts. Thanks to the ring road, thorough-traffic doesn't exist here. The smaller and quieter village of Ried is right on the border of Kaltenbach. Stumm, on the opposite side of the valley, is approx. 1.5 km from the gondola to the ski area "Ski-optimal" and offers a special flair with its beautiful village square. All three districts have a modern tourist infrastructure with, among other amenities, indoor pools and various recreational attractions. In the middle of the ski area Hochzillertal lay the "Kristallhütte" and the "Wedelhütte", which are known to be two of the best ski huts in the Zillertal, and have already given shelter to many famous celebrities. Further, numerous restaurants offer regional specialities like traditional "Kasspatzen" pasta with cheese, home-made apple strudel, and "Kaiserschmarrn," sugared pancakes with raisins.


Tux

Tux

The community of Tux, with its five districts, forms the end of the Ziller Valley. Vorderlanersbach, Lanersbach, Juns, Madseit and Hintertux are characteristic Tyrolean villages at heights between 1,300 - 1,500 m, stretching over a length of 8 km. The village offers direct entry to the Rastkogel, Eggalm, and year-round Hintertux Glacier ski areas.In addition to balanced apres ski, an array of sporty leisure activities are available. Relaxation seekers can enjoy the numerous spa offers available. A unique experience is a descent into the Spannagel Cave near the Hintertux Glacier; as one of the most important of Tyrol's caves, the length of its shaft is 10 km and can go to a depth of up to 25 m!


Gerlos

Gerlos

Gerlos is located at an altitude of 1,250 m in the middle of the Zillertal Arena, which with 169 km of piste is the largest ski area in the Ziller Valley. The mountain village is particularly well-known for its après-ski possibilities and is ranked high up with its better-known neighbours Mayrhofen and Zell am Ziller. Numerous bars, discos and ski huts invite you in for a visit. With its diverse sport and leisure possibilities like tobogganing, cross-country skiing, paragliding or winter hiking, the ski resort has more to offer than just lifts and pistes. It's therefore not surprising that in the last few years, Gerlos has become one of the most popular winter sport resorts in the Ziller Valley. Thanks to the ski resort’s perfect orientation in the middle of the Zillertal Arena, Gerlos offers an optimal connection to the entire ski region, of which is included in the Zillertal Superskipass. With a total of 143 km of piste all ranging from novice to intermediate, as well as 52 lift systems, the Zillertal Arena presents an ideal starting point for your winter holiday for both beginners and experienced skiers.


Aschau Ziller Valley

In the heart of the Zillertal lies the idyllic resort Aschau, between Kaltenbach and Zell am Ziller. The small, quiet village comprises the main part Aschau and some farm years and single houses along the mountain sides and valley basin. The central location is ideal for every skier, because from here you have the choice between 2 fantastic ski areas: Hochfügen-Hochzillertal and the Zillertal Arena, which are perfectly accessible via the free ski bus service. A special highlight is the new, illuminated valley descent. The toboggan run Lengstein is also illuminated and offer fun and action for the little ones. Tranquillity and relaxation can be found on an idyllic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the wintry landscape or in a sociable round in of the many, cosy mountain huts.

Schlitters

Right at the entrance of Zillertal, at an altitude of 548 m, lies Schlitters. The history-rich village is one of the oldest in Zillertal and is not just a visually romantic picturebook holiday destination. The family-friendly holiday village counts, with its 1,500 residents, as one of the smaller villages in the valley, but thanks to its Apline surroundings, has a latge variety of leisure activities to offer. Trudging with snowshoes through the landscape, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, or in a café on the Schlitterer See and enjoying the beaming winter sun - all is part of the programme here. Neighbouring areas by Schlitters include the ski centre Fügen, where you can directly access the ski area Hochzillertal-Hochfügen. The free ski bus, as well as the Zillertal train, connects the valley destinations and ski centres seamlessly. Worth recommending is a day trip to the adventure-thermal bath Zillertal - a paradise for water lovers. For night owls, Fügen and Kaltenbach are also worth checking out.


Weerberg

Weerberg

Weerberg is situated 900 metres high on a plateau above the Inntal valley, away from the heavy traffic routes. It therefore offers an impressive panoramic view of the Karwendel and Rofan mountains in the north, the Kellerjoch in the east and also of Innsbruck, which is approx. 25 km away. A day trip to the beautiful city which hosted the 1964 and 1976 Olympics is a must! A 30 km journey in the opposite direction leads you to the wonderful Ziller valley and its almost endless choice of pistes. So due to its central location, Weerberg is an ideal base for all kinds of excursions. As it happens, with a stretch of 14 km, Weerberg is also one of the longest villages in Austria.

The idyllic resort Münster lies in the Inn Valley, at the gateway to the Alpbachtal and offers everything a winter sports fan can wish for. Reith im Alpbachtal can be reached after about 7 km and here, you'll have the chance to enter the Ski Juwel ski area. Furthermore, Zillertal can also be reached in just a few minutes by car. Moreover, Münster also has a diverse leisure time programme on offer. The romantic castle Lipperheide from the 19th century with altering events, e.g. art exhibitions, is worth a visit. Or enjoy the wonderful winter landscape on a winter hike or during a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride.

The family friendly village of Stans is located at the foot of the Karwendel Mountains in the Unterinntal. With a ski lift located in town and due to its close vicinity to the ski areas Kellerjoch, Weerberg and Zillertal, Stans offers much diversity for an active holiday maker. This amazing landscape can be explored through exciting toboggan rides, romantic snow-shoe hikes and torch hikes. The lovely nature around Stans offers relaxation and recuperation for everyone. And the "Wolfsklamm", located close by in the Tyrolean Karwendel is an additional highlight for all nature lovers and you shouldn't give it a miss.
