Festival of Ceahlau Mountain is a tradition of Durău from Neamț County and takes place annually in august 6th. It is dedicated to Mount Ceahlău mountain, the only Saint from Romania, and the date marks the "Transfiguration".
Festival of Ceahlau Mountain is a very ancient celebration, for hundreds of years, people would gather 6 august in folk costumes, the Ceahlău mountain peak where a priest was doing a prayer, followed by a great feast and then dances and folk songs. Happening all day and all night, with shouts of jubilation.
Currently, the Festival consists of exhibitions of folk art, folklore shows and tasting of traditional dishes.
