Anina City - details and images

The mine is the representative symbol of the locality, the old mining center. The bridge represents an old historical monument of the city. The deer signifies the hunting wealth of the area. The mural crown with three crenellated towers means that the town has the rank of city.
Although the tourist infrastructure at acceptable standards is almost absent in the area, there are a number of tourist attractions nearby that deserve attention:
Buhui Cave, with the longest underground course in Romania, and Buhui Lake, the first artificial lake in Romania
Buhui - Mărghitaș, protected area
Minișului Gorges with Cascada and Izbucul Bigăr
Oravița-Anina railway - the first mountain railway on the Romanian territory, put into operation in 1863, also called "Semmeringul Bănățean", with reference to the Semmering railway.
