Arbore Church - details and images

In 1503 Luca Arbore - Goalkeeper of Suceava - elevates his church with his Lord in the village that today bears his name. Construction has begun on the second day of April and was completed in the same year, on 29 August. Church carries commemorative plaque dedicated to St. John the Baptist.
Designed and built in a simple form, based on the idea of a longitudinal type churches, you conspicuous by its great styling. Overtime side walls connected by a wide semicircular arch, circumscribe the outside, on the western front, a great niche, for, apparently, the abode of bells.

Shaft's craftsmen have achieved straight wall, with huge swathes of smooth caps have introduced the first semi cylindrical eliminating the nave and the narthex. Low arches, spirals without slopes and Moldovan system of arches, all church gives elegant proportions, showing a construction of great value.

In 1523 "in the month of April, the city Hârlăului, Stefan Voda [Ştefăniţă Voda] have pre-cut Arbure hetman, whom you say we have learned with hiclenie" (Gregory Ear). So Luke ended shaft, one of the great nobles of Stephen the Great's chief adviser Bogdan III, Stefan Voda's guardian.
