Askos Stone Park - details and images
Askos Stone Park is located in the northern part of Zakynthos, one kilometer from the port of St. Nicholas of Volimes. There are wild falcons of many species, many mammals representative of the island, many species of birds, amphibians, insects and other native animals. The area of the park contains several stone structures, such as old stables, rock-cut pools for collecting water dating back several centuries and a lot of constructions using stone and wood, in harmony with the natural environment.
Scientific research organizations (for example, agricultural schools) are welcome in the park for any kind of scientific research, for which they can use the spaces of the park or surrounding area throughout the year. Askos Park operates throughout the year, except on days when the weather is not suitable.
