Ca 'd'Oro Castle - details and images

Ca 'd'Oro is the most beautiful castle on the Grand Canal. The palace was built between 1428 and 1430 for the Contarini family, who were part of eight break up between 1043 and 1676. After the elections, each would leave their doge palace and move to the Doge's Palace. Main facade on the Grand Canal was built in Venetian Gothic style floral. In this style were built and the Palace and the Palace Giustinian Barbaro.

Downstairs Lodge allows access to a channel directly from the entrance hall. Above the colonnade is the main room balcony. Columns balcony have capitals (instead of combining with the upper poles) that support the windows above them in the form of clover. Above this balcony is another similar to the lower balcony. From Tuesday to Saturday visiting hours are: 8:15 to 7:15 p.m.. Monday is open from 8:15 - 14:00. Last entry is 30 minutes before closing.
It is closed on December 25, January 1 and May 1.

Low Price: 2.5 € + € 1 booking for students between 18 and 25 years.
For EU citizens is free under 18 and over 65 years;
For non-EU citizens under 12 years is free.
