Chilia lui Daniil Sihastrul - details and images
The monk and saint Daniil chose at one point of his life to retire on the banks of the river Viteul, from the village of Putna today, to lead a life dedicated to the Lord, in sinisteria, for 20 years. He found here a rock in which he patiently carved a small room, a paraclis, which later became a place visited by many believers who came to seek His counsel and to be saved from suffering.
