Hellbrunn Castle - Salzburg - details and images

The main building of the Castle Hellbrunn Palace Hellbrunn or (which is actually more a mansion than a palace - it is still one of the most important sights in Salzburg) was built between 1613 and 1615. It is a rectangular shape with two front corner pavilions. The three floors are categorized decorations on the facade of so-called "Kordongesimse. Double staircase leads to the main gate entrance at Hellbrunn Castle. Under the stairs there is a fountain of Santino Solari Grotto. On the first floor of Hellbrunn Palace is located "Chambers Prince" - Fürstenzimmer. This part was decorated by Arsenio Mascagni in 1615. In front of Hellbrunn Palace you will find "Ehrenhof (yard), a court which widens more and more as you approach the palace. During Christmas, here are organizing a very popular Christmas market.

"Ziergarten" or Pleasure Garden of Hellbrunn Palace was inaugurated back in the 17th century. Garden center is marked by a pond where there is a small rectangular island. Floral arrangements were originally baroque but later was changed repeatedly. Two obelisks in the west of Grandin is all that remains of the original design in 1730.

Hellbrunn Palace fame was on the gardens and fountains that are still here. In the park there are wells, fountains, ponds, five artificial grottoes, sculptures and statues. The entire area around the Castle Hellbrunn is a kind of Baroque Disneyland, created for the sole purpose of you enjoy rich Print Archbishop of Salzburg and his guests.
