Hermitage of St. Elijah - Semenic - details and images

The natural beauty of the place has caused people to build good faith in the years 1945 - 1946, the foundation stone and iron, a beautiful wooden church, like the wooden churches of Maramures. Initiative to build a monastery belongs to Mr. Ing Alexander Papp, director general of the Society UDR (plants and areas Resita) and numerous faithful from Resita and elsewhere.

The project was made architect George Raureanuin 1943. The interior measures 11.90 meters long, 5.40 m width and height of the tower which rises elegantly slender and reaches 20 m. The tower sits on a metal frame to withstand strong winds and frequent blizzards in the area. The church has the shape of the vessel, divided into the sanctuary, nave and a small vestibule. The iconostasis is made of wood, carving only imperial doors. I just painted icons of saints apostles. The altar is lit by three windows, and the remaining space of three windows on each side. Entrance porch faIcoana Savior (silver plated) to a metal door and the porch in the nave by a wooden door. The tower was covered with tin, which due to weather weather started to rust. Welcoming interior is covered with offerings of believers from different parts of the country, which impresses with the variety and artistic beauty,
