Musée d'Orsay - details and images
The French government decided in 1977 to transform the station into a museum. Redevelopment works have lasted long enough and have assumed the construction of over 20,000 square feet on four floors in November. The museum was inaugurated by President Francois Mitterrand on 1 December 1986.
Musée d'Orsay is on the left bank of the Seine and offers multiple viewing paintings, sculptures, furniture and photographs, but is probably best known for its collection of impressionist masterpieces of great painters such as Renoir, Monet or Cezanne.

9.30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
9.30 a.m. - 9:45 p.m. on Thursdays.
Monday - Closed
Last tickets sold at 5 p.m. (9 p.m. on Thursdays).
The museum is closed on January 1, May 1 and December 25.
For large groups of tourists must be booked in advance. Access is via gate A for those without tickets and priority access through gate C to those who already have tickets, subscriptions or entry permits.
Rates:
€ 9 - access to permanent collections and exhibitions.
€ 7 - for those between 18 and 30 years for everyone after at 4:15 pm (Except Thursday - from 6 p.m.)
Free - under 18, persons with disabilities and one companion, the art students and teachers, journalists and art critics, guides.
On the first Sunday of every month is free access for everyone.
