Undoubtedly the most prestigious racing circuits in the history of the old Nurburgring was like a roller-coaster race for 14 miles through the wooded hills of western Germany, not far from the border with Belgium. The idea appeared in the `circuit 20 from Dr. Kreutz, local district leader, who felt that such a building would reduce unemployment and promote tourism, would provide a test location for the German car industry. The idea has received approval from the German Government, which provided the 15 million mark (DM) as the necessary funds for the project.

The new circuit was composed of two separate routes, and Sudschleife Nordschleife, or north and south loop. These routes could be used separately or combined to create a large loop, with booths and stands are located at the junction of the two circuits in the middle. Hosted the first Grand Prix Germany Nurburgring took place in 1927 and was won by Otto Merz, a Mercedes in front of 100,000 fans.
History circuit is loaded with big wins from sports legends, including them on the Nuvolari, Fangio and Jackie Stewart. Over the years, however, growing concerns about security and broadcast TV has become a problem, being too expensive installation of cameras to cover the entire circuit.

Austrian legend Niki Lauda pilot asked pilots to boycott the race in 1976 on safety grounds. In a sad twist of events, the other pilots have voted against him and the race took place. Commenting on the experiences offered by the old circuit, motorsport legend Jackie Stewart said - "Nothing gave me more satisfaction than a win at the Nurburgring, and yet I was always afraid."
