Naval History Museum - details and images

Arsenal can be visited without special permission. It is largely a secret Italian Navy. But we can visit the impressive museum of naval history that is only a few steps.

Even the entrance you will be welcomed by some objects in the Second World War, including man-guided torpedoes, which were invented in Italy. On the first floor is full of models and other exhibits related to ship building.

The most prominent exhibit is a model of the ship Buncitoro, a ridiculously large vessel used by Dogi Venice in the annual ceremony aimed unity with the great city with a huge ring. The next floor you can see a plenitude of other interesting exhibits including the northern Viking vessels. The ticket is valid in some stores where you can see some ships that have not fit into a museum. To get to these stores, you just need to turn right as soon as you exit the museum and walk along the canal until you see the person that controls the tickets.

The price of a ticket is a real business. It costs only € 1.55, and the money is donated to an orphanage port. Venice Card holders receive a discount even.

Schedule: It is open from 8:45 am to 1:30 pm (only until 1 pm Saturday). Sundays and holidays Naval History Museum is closed.
