Somehow equivalent Westminster Abbey in England, the Cathedral of Reims was the church where many French kings were crowned.

It replaced an older church, who died after a fire in 1211, followed later by the basilica where Clovis was baptized by Saint Remi, bishop of Reims in 496.

Reims Cathedral was completed at the end of the thirteenth century, excepting only the west facade.
