Spring River Mures - details and images
Source of the river Mures is located on the southern slope of Black Mountain. Place the center of the village, not far from the road, west of it, at the foot Greţeş, at an altitude of 866 m where there is a small spring, is designated by the locals as the source of the river, but experts state that the true sources are up to 1350 m altitude on the south-west of Mount Peak near Black Fagului and locals, the first few kilometers I know under various names: Lime creek, stream or brook Forica Baci, a tributary of Grand river, flows into it near the station railway. The total length of the river Mures is of 803 km, of which 80 km in Harghita County, 768 km in Romania.
Origin of name Mures: comes from the Celtic words muor = swamp, marsh and river Acha = so moraha river swampy, boggy. Miersch Saxon name, Muresc is closest to this archaic form, according to linguists.
