Statue of Hercules - details and images

The statue of Hercules in Băile Herculane, is one of the most famous and ancient statues of Băile Herculane Resort. Being declared a historical monument and dating back over 170 years, the statue represents the point 0 of the resort.
Its history begins in 1848 when, at the request of Archduke Carol the heir of Austria, the masters Ramelmayer and Glantz of Vienna pour into bronze what was to be the symbol of the city of Băile Herculane.
The statue represents Hercules, the son of the god Zeus and a mortal, the queen Alcmene, wearing on the left shoulder the skin of the lion of Nemeea and in the left hand the broom used in fighting
