The Archeology Museum - details and images

The Archeology Museum is located in a former girls' school and was built in 1894. The oldest artefacts you can visit are the stone and bone tools from the Neolithic era, the stone and bronze era. The museum also has an outdoor exhibition where you can watch on the big screen the reconstruction of a Thracian tomb from the 13th century.
The small museum exhibits discoveries from the entire history of the city, focusing on the Romanian period and the only trac wood tomb discovered along the coast.
The Archeology Museum of Burgas was founded in 1925 and is located in a building that is proclaimed a cultural monument.
In the museum there are exhibits of modern history, photographs of the leaders of the Bulgarian Renaissance. The museum hosts the largest exhibition of anchors in the ancient Balkan Peninsula.
