The Kassandra arm - details and images

The Kassandra arm was named after the name of the King of Macedonia Kassandros. Kassandra is the westernmost arm of the peninsula, and closest to the city of Thessaloniki. The activity of the locals is fishing and cultivating olives. It has the most hotels, guesthouses, taverns, bars, beaches with facilities for water sports being the most popular in Halkidiki.

Kassandra has many wonderful beaches:

-Kallithea beach is one of the most popular beaches on the Kassandra arm. The beach is located on the eastern bank of the arm, near the picturesque village of Afitos. The beach is located about 50 km south of Polygyros, the capital of the peninsula.
- Kassandra beaches, Kriopigi is 7 km from Kallithea and 56 km south from Polygyros.
- Nea Skioni Beach, Kassandra is one of them, boasting a Blue Flag offered for the quality of the sand and water. It is located at a distance of 78 km southwest of the village of Polygyros. The beach is surrounded by pine trees and along the beach promenade there are taverns with fish dishes and traditional dishes.
- Sani Beach, Kassandra is located at a distance of 70 km from Thessaloniki and is 7 km long. Near it is an amphitheater where, in July and August, music festivals are organized.
- Kassandra beaches, Afithos is located in a picturesque village located on the Kassandra branch, a historic village with a small, romantic beach surrounded by rocks and vegetation.
-Nea Fokea Beach- Another famous beach in the area is Nea Fokea beach, located at a distance of 40 km from Polygyros and 80 km from Thessaloniki. The beach is long and covered with fine sand. Near the beach are the St. Paul's Tower, built in 1407, and the Church of the Apostle Paul, two tourist attractions.
- Pefkohori Beach is a special beach located in the south of the Kassandra arm, at a distance of 68 km from Polygyros and 80 km from Thessaloniki. The beach promenade hosts taverns and terraces.
