The Lacu hermitage is also known as the Saint Martyr Dimitrie Hermitage. It is located in the central part of the Peninsula, between the Amalfino Tower and the Saint Paul Monastery. The hermitage is inhabited by Romanian monks and belongs to St. Paul's Monastery.
Lako in translation means pit, that is, the "pit sketch". it is surrounded by three parts of mountains, with a single exit to the sea, on the stream valley being a very secluded and deserted place.
Between 1898 and 1904 the great church of the hermitage dedicated to Saint Dimitrius was built, and other cells were built during the year, reaching 24, the number of monks exceeding 100.
The chilies of the Lake Schit are: Chilia Buna Vestire, the Chilia of the Holy Great Martyr Artemie, the Chilia of Saint Hierarch Nicolae, the Chilia of the Blessing of the Virgin Mary, the Chilia of the Ascension of the Lord, the Chilia of the Lord's welcome, the Chilia of Saint Prooroc Ilie, the Chilia of the Blessed Antony the Great. Each cell has a abbot under the obedience that is needed by those who are part of his community. During the week, each cell has its own schedule, and on Sundays and holidays they all meet at the large church of the church for the service.
