Located on the beautiful and peaceful square of Mariatorget on Sodermalm, an island that is considered up and coming, designed in the style of a 1930s Art Deco cinema, The Rival is a 4-star superior hotel, offering modern accommodation and excellent services suited to both business and leisure guests. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many bars and restaurants, and the nearest T bana, or metro station, is only a few steps away. It is tastefully decorated in classic boutique-hotel style, with a modern art-deco interior. It even has an on-site bakery and restored cinema, small touches that help make it a very comfortable and relaxed place in which to stay. The hotel offers a variety of dining and drinking experiences, with a cocktail bar on the first floor and an extensive breakfast buffet served on the second. The sunny window-walled breakfast room facing the square also doubles as a bistro at lunch and restaurant in the evening: it's an extremely cosy room, especially in the winter, with candlelit tables, rugs and dark wooden floors.
