About Buenos Aires - presentation, information, photos and recommendations

Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina. The name means''good''in Spanish wind. It is one of the largest cities in Latin America, with plenty of cultural offerings, and is the starting point for travel to the rest of the country. Residents of Buenos Aires are known as Portenos, "people wear." A small part of the origins of indigenous inhabitants. Majortiatea inhabitants are Roman Catholics, the Spanish language.

Buenos Aires is the most European of all cities of South America. With its wide boulevards, green parks, impressive buildings, a diverse culture and a lively nightlife, Buenos Aires is reminiscent of Paris or Barcelona. This is not surprising: most of the residents are descendants of European immigrants who settled here in the 19th century, bringing with them a culture that can be admired in many art galleries, theaters and museums, as well as a culinary art can be enjoyed in the best quality restaurants.

Despite its European influences, Buenos Aires is a unique city. Tango musicians who played on the streets are part of the local landscape as much as the city's famous monuments, such as the Teatro Colon and French-inspired architecture.

Nuestra Señor de Santa Maria del Buen Aire was founded in 1536 by Pedro de Mendoza and carries holy name to protect sailors, bringing them a good wind (Buenos aire).

At present, Buenos Aires is the third largest city in South America and contains 47 Barrios (neighborhoods), inhabited by about 3 million people. Although the center is bustling and crowded as any large urban center, Buenos Aires is also a very pleasant place to walk.

Local culture is a place of honor in every week at the district Mataderos fair (Feria de Mataderos), where you can find local products and culinary arts.

Each neighborhood in Buenos Aires has its own personality, offering visitors museums, historical visits, restaurants, shops, dance classes and outdoor activities for all tastes. Palermo, La Recoleta and Belgrano boast wide boulevards, lined by grand buildings and large parks.

The city lies on a plain covering 19.4 kilometers from north to south and 17.9 km from east to west.

About three million people live in Buenos Aires city spanning 202 km square. The city is divided into 48 districts,''or''Barrios. Together with the metropolitan area and Great Buenos Aires (Gran Buenos Aires), it is one of the ten most populated urban centers in the world with over 14 million people. The highest activity of the country is highly concentrated around the city and its surroundings. Buenos Aires constantly receives tourists from around the world and offers a wide range of cultural events, nightlife, restaurants and pubs, so you can expect quality service and a wide range of options.
