Gatwick Airport is a major international airport near Crawley, Sussex, being the second busiest airport in total passenger traffic in the UK, after Heathrow Airport and the eighth busiest airport in Europe. The airport is at 14 km of the M23 motorway, which connects with London to the M25 ring road. The London-Brighton road (A23) and the A217 road also pass through Gatwick.

The airport station, which is located close to the South Terminal, offers rapid and frequent train services on the Brighton Main Line to London Victoria and London Bridge Station, as well as south to Brighton. Gatwick Express, the most popular carrier, goes to Victoria Station, the most popular destination, but several operators, including Southern, First Capital Connect, Virgin Trains and First Great Western Link, provide transportation to Victoria Station. First Capital Connect offers direct transportation to Luton Airport, and passengers without luggage or light luggage can reach Heathrow Airport by the X26 Express Bus from the bus station next to East Croydon Railway Station. National Express offers passenger transport services between Gatwick, Heathrow and Stansted airports as well as in cities around London. In addition, there is an extensive network of bus routes from other operators.
At the airport there are several long and short term car parks in and around the airport area, but they are often crowded during the summer months.
